Composer Woodrow Wilson Jackson III creates, produces, and designs award-winning musical scores. Woody came to Los Angeles in 1992 and soon became experienced in film score, playing on wide-ranging projects like The Devil Wears Prada, and collaborating with David Holmes on the amazing soundtracks to Ocean’s Twelve, Ocean’s Thirteen and The Girlfriend Experience. A consummate modern composer, Jackson draws inspiration from a wide variety of influences, ranging from Morricone to Sato, Barry to Vannier, in order to build immersive, integral musical experiences.
Working out of the historic Vox Recording Studios in the heart of Hollywood, Jackson is also a studio session guitarist, and has laid down tracks with such luminaries as T Bone Burnett (including collaborations on the hit ABC television show Nashville), Daniel Johnston, Primal Scream, Tenacious D, Money Mark and Beck.
Rockstar Games has tapped Woody to craft several scores for their video games, including the sweeping Western music of Red Dead Redemption and the impossibly cool hybrid jazz of L.A. Noire. In 2010, Jackson won the Spike Video Game Award (VGA) for Best Original Score for the Red Dead Redemption score. With his latest collaboration with Rockstar along with help from Tangerine Dream, The Alchemist, and Oh No, Woody has created the relentless, interactive, multi-genre score for the most highly anticipated game of the year, Grand Theft Auto V.
